America Recycles Day!

America Recycles Day!

Every year, November 15th is a day that Americans are encouraged to make a commitment to recycle. The Keep America Beautiful campaign encourages people to take action by making a pledge to positively contribute to our country’s recycling efforts. There are opportunities to attend area events, encourage others to recycle, or to refocus your own personal recycling goals for the year. You can visit their website at https://americarecyclesday.org/.

Here at the SIUE STEM Center we encourage area youth to recycle by integrating environmental science into our outreach programs such as Robotics. Our Robotics participants are currently learning various ways that robots are used to contribute to improving our environment. Our elementary students learn what materials are recyclable and how we can use our rovers and their robotic arms to help us recycle materials in the appropriate way. If a robot can do it, so can we!! If you would like to discuss more ways you can support recycling in your community, feel free to contact us at the STEM Center.
