Simple Machines is a Math and Science Hands On (M.A.S.H.) kit designed to teach students in grades 2-3 about machinery and work. Work is scientifically defined as the result of a force moving an object through a distance. With Simple Machines, students will explore six simple machines: the inclined plane, the lever, the pulley, the screw, the wedge, and the wheel and axle. Actively studying, building, and using these machines will lead students to understand how machines reduce work!
