The STEM Center has prioritized research into issues of science equity and access. STEM Center research assistant professor, Dr. Carol Colaninno, had her research, which focuses on equity and access at archaeological field schools, highlighted in a recent Science Magazine article! It is great to see these issues receive national attention as the STEM Center continues to research ways to make science accessible for every person!
This research is conducted in partnership with Drs. Emily Beahm and Carl Drexler of the Arkansas Archeological Survey, Dr. Shawn Lambert of Mississippi State University, and the Southeastern Archaeological Conference. More information about the project can be found on the projects webpage.
