Welcome Christian Activity Center Students!
This page will provide a place for all of the resources and links that you may need for the SIUE STEM program this year.
Each week we will have an activity to do at home using no materials or a few things you should find easily, then we’ll discuss how things went through an internet discussion. Ms. Arnaye, Miss Rita, and Colin are all very excited to see you again and keep working to Save the World!
Work on these activities at home but join us for a Zoom meeting every month to discuss! Ms. Arnaye can get you the password…
- To finish up, we’re going to look at what happens to biodiversity when habitats are disrupted. Start off with this activity about making a model of a reserve and check out the video introduction here.

- We started with Fingerprinting, Part 1 and Fingerprinting, Part 2 where you compare your fingerprints to other peoples to see how close they are. When you do these activities, check out Colin in this video about comparing fingerprints, and this video where he gets you started on taking fingerprints using three different methods.
- Our second set was all about about Managing Biodiversity with the two aspects of Estimating Population and Estimating Biodiversity over recent weeks! Our first video about the population activity, as well as the second video explaining how to estimate biodiversity led to the first video and second video which together cover the details of the joint activity.
- After that, we switched to animal populations. You can find a bunny activity here and be sure to try out the fishing techniques activity and then the monitoring fisheries activity if you haven’t already. We have this video to show you all the different buttons of the bunnies simulation and this video walking you through the fishing activity.
