Robotics and Mechatronics Teacher Workshop

Robotics and Mechatronics Teacher Workshop

If you are a high school teacher in the St. Louis Metro East or St. Louis area who teaches science, technology, mathematics, engineering, or design-based vocational subjects, this teacher workshop will be great for you! Through this workshop, teachers will learn about mechatronics and robotics and how they can be used to enhance their students’ learning of mathematics, technology, and engineering concepts with no prior knowledge required. Professor Nima Lotfi will introduce teachers to Raspberry Pi computers (a small, modifiable computer that can be used in a variety of projects) and Python (a programming language). Teachers will also gain access to free teaching materials and mechatronics project tutorials online. Finally, teachers will make plans to implement mechatronics and/or robotics activities into curriculum with expert support.
