Suprasanna is pursuing her master’s degree in Environmental Sciences with concentration on environmental policy and public administration at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Her graduate research is primarily focused on agricultural runoff and water pollution, and the political and social aspects related to them. She is interested in the interrelationship between communities and governments for combating these environmental problems and their perceptions that shape related policies. A main goal of her research is to contribute to more effective water and agricultural policies and more informed means to communicate these policies to local communities. At the STEM Center, Suprasanna is working on the National Recreation Foundation-funded Urban Gardening project, where she is helping to teach urban gardening strategies and ecological concepts to young girls.
