Two STEM Center graduate research assistants are graduating this summer, Jannatul and Manny!
Jannatul is receiving her master’s degree in Environmental Science. Jannatul’s research focused on soil contamination and conservation in the St. Louis MetroEast. For the last year, Jannatul has served as a graduate research assistant on the STEM Center’s Youth-Led Citizen Science Network for Community Environmental Assessment program where she supported student programming and environmental science monitoring data. Congratulations, Jannatul!
Manny is receiving his master’s degree in Environmental Science. For his thesis research, Manny focused on documenting the environmental conditional needed for fishes to survive in a restored pond in Madison County. At the STEM Center, Manny supported various programs including Urban Gardening, a youth program teaching girls the science of gardening in a city landscape, and GEOPATHS, a program providing research opportunities and student development in the geosciences for undergraduates attending SIUE.
